You might have seen this red 1995 Chevrolet K 1500 cruising the streets of St. Francis, but you probably don’t know the story behind this beater of the week.
Senior, Landen Allen has owned this Chevy K 1500 for three years and has put a lot of work into it in his short amount of time owning it.
Allen originally bought this truck from Facebook Marketplace and since its initial purchase has poured some money into it.
“I have put around 1,200 dollars into it,” said Allen who explained that these expenses covered a new transmission and manifolds for “The K Body”.
Allen also reported that his next plans for the truck are to replace the fender and the grill as he bumped into the driver side fender and it easily popped back and fourth with just the weight of his leg, next to the slightly weak fender the metal grill was bent into itself as well.
Allen takes pride in his 1995 Chevrolet K 1500 and you can clearly see the work that he has done to it in order to keep it maintained and that is why it was unanimously nominated for SFHS Today’s “Beater of the Week”.
Allen said he has made many great memories riding around in the truck and working on it.
“[The K Body] has 203,000 miles on it,” said Allen, “and I’m hoping for at least 40,000 to 50,000 more.”
