Going to school can be extremely stressful for so many reasons: everyone has their own conflicts as to why high school can be stressful. Some students want to keep their grades up and maintain solid friendships, while others play up to three completely different sports throughout a given school year.
Other students, like me, work while having school at the same time. Sometimes, working can be too much for teens (especially once you obtain a license–driving makes it extremely easy to pick up more hours). Many teens enjoy the freedom of funding their own bank account, while I save my money as much as I can, putting my earnings towards a fix my car needs.
I believe working as a teen is the most stressful task for a teenager due to a plethora of reasons. My main reasoning is the fact that you are practically working the schedule of two part-time jobs. You wake up in the morning and go straight to school, then straight to work; the cycle repeats every day.
The automatic solution that adults suggest is working less, or enjoying your adolescent years outside of the work force, but that misses the point. My reason is because nothing has been given to me since I have started working. Many teenagers do not have the privilege of their parents supplying many luxuries. The best advice I could give to other working teens is to get a flexible job that prioritizes school and mental health.
