Futures Prep Finale prepares students for the real world

Community members volunteer to conduct Mock Interviews

Leaders from the St. Francis community gathered in the IMC  on November 8 to professionally grade seniors on their interviewing skills.

Career Center Counselor Dawn Abraham and Business Teacher Lisa-Marie Schrag have been working for months putting together this unique experience.

“This trimester over 106 seniors in Futures Prep Finale have the opportunity to prepare for Mock Interviews,” said Shrag. “Ms. Abraham has worked with many people around our community to come in and help our students.”

Futures Prep Finale is a class that helps prepare students for  college and  future plans. They take a lot of time going through the steps needed to get into colleges and ways to get financial aid. The idea of hosting mock interviews is to prepare students how the interview process works for a real job.

“Before going on their Mock interview they needed to prepare with an application, detailed resume, and a cover letter,” said Shrag.

“I’d like to thank all the community members who have come in and donate their time,” said Abraham. ” They help our students prepare for these interviews,  conduct the interviews, and today we had over 16 community members come in to help.”
