In the cafeteria of SFHS, there is a wall that represents a select few. This wall holds the past Saints who excelled in what they did. This is the St. Francis Hall of Fame.

On January 11, 2019 the St. Francis Hall of Fame Committee inducted Terry Sworsky, along with his team from 1986. This team was the first team in St. Francis wrestling to make it to state.
“Well it’s really an honour. I think the other part of it is great recognition for the wrestling team,” said former coach Terry Sworsky.

The team enjoyed a ceremony prior to one of this season’s home wrestling meets.

“It’s amazing. It’s 33 years ago and seems like it was yesterday,” said former 98 pound wrestler for the 1986 team Gary Clem. “Obviously I’m not the same weight class as I was back then, but to go in with a bunch of guys that you wrestled with your entire life, Hall of Fame is cool no matter what it is for.”

As a team member Gary Clem was excited and very proud to have been honored with his former teammates and friends.

“Terry Sworsky was a longtime wrestling coach here and had a lot of success as a coach and he is in the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame,” said Chris Lindquist, athletic director at St. Francis, “The 1986 team happened to be one of the first teams that really went to state and then made some noise.”
